After our hike to Soda Mountain we hiked the PCT in the other direction, heading northbound to Hobart Bluff.

Henderson’s fawn lily:

We had encountered blowdown on the PCT heading to Soda Mountain and there was blowdown on this section too:

We turned off the PCT and headed up the hill to Hobart Bluff:

View of Soda Mountain:

There was a lot of this mahala mat in bloom:

Then we crossed an open meadow area with a lot of balsamroot:

Phlox:

Almost to the summit:

The summit is a broad rocky area with a lot of room to spread out:

The clouds were increasing and obscuring some of our views:

But we could still see Pilot Rock:

And Mt. Ashland:

We could also see most of Mt. McLouglin:

This was our first time hiking to Hobart Bluff. Very pleasant early summer hike!
Gaia stats: 2.4 miles, 330′ elevation gain
