We were quite tired today after yesterday’s long Burroughs Mountain hike, so we did something very easy low-key: the Silver Forest Trail.
Clouds swirled around Mt. Rainier as we set off:

There was a little viewpoint with a huge signboard that no longer contained a sign:

We continued on, passing wildflowers along the way:







Looking back at Mt. Rainier:



We reached the end of the maintained trail, but kept following the user trail beyond it:




We found a shady spot to sit and enjoy the view for awhile. Nearby two golden-mantled ground squirrels assessed whether we were an easy mark:


I explored the trail a little bit further. It kept going into some trees and I turned around:


Clouds rolled in and covered the mountain:

After a long sit we headed back:
