Numerous lightning-started fires in southern Oregon have been labeled the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/High_Cascades_Complex_fires\">High Cascades Complex Fires<\/a>. The lookout on Hershberger Mountain has been threatened by one of those, the Pup Fire. Fortunately they wrapped it and it seems to have been saved.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/inciweb.nwcg.gov\/incident\/article\/5503\/39535\/\">From August 31<\/a>: Burnout operations around Hershberger Lookout successfully protected the structures and radio repeaters from the Pup Fire (1,410 ac.).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/inciweb.nwcg.gov\/incident\/article\/5503\/39971\/\">From September 4<\/a>: Firefighters will monitor the Pup Fire and continue point protection on the Hershberger Lookout and the adjacent telecommunication site.<\/p>\n<p>The photo below is from Inciweb where they label this fire the Falcon Complex:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/inciweb.nwcg.gov\/incident\/photograph\/5484\/3\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm2.staticflickr.com\/1723\/40867589640_d0d43de06f_c.jpg\" alt=\"Hershberger_Wrapped2_8-24-17\" width=\"450\" height=\"800\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/inciweb.nwcg.gov\/incident\/photograph\/5484\/4\/70455<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What a bad summer for fires.
