In 1985 the Forest Service moved it off the mountain on a flatbed trailer.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm2.staticflickr.com\/1614\/24081723236_edc29eb2e5_c.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"570\" \/><\/p>\n<p>They set it up at the Tiller Ranger Station as an exhibit and it&#8217;s still there. After staying at Pickett Butte for three nights we stopped here on our way out. It&#8217;s in great shape considering it&#8217;s almost 90 years old!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm1.staticflickr.com\/469\/18719813244_e570fd316a_c.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"531\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The lookout was locked up. Not sure if it&#8217;s unlocked on weekdays, but we could still see inside. There&#8217;s a plaque on the outside wall explaining the history.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm6.staticflickr.com\/5709\/23487934654_e635996ae1_c.jpg\" alt=\"Fire Lookout Plaque\" width=\"800\" height=\"531\" \/><\/p>\n<p>August update: On August 5 the Forest Service wrapped the buildings at Tiller Ranger Station, including the lookout, when the Stouts Fire got a little too close for comfort.
