I haven&#8217;t been back since, but almost exactly nine years later I revisited this lookout. (Read more about the hike itself <a href=\"https:\/\/cherylhill.net\/blog\/2024\/06\/20\/acker-rock\/\">here<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>Just before the reaching the summit I passed the composting toilet:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53818767569_e493bf2011_b.jpg\" alt=\"Acker Rock Hike\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The lookout came into view above me:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53818648238_69257eac0b_b.jpg\" alt=\"Acker Rock Hike\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53818873175_43fa591850_b.jpg\" alt=\"Acker Rock Hike\" width=\"1024\" height=\"684\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s so little room on the summit that the propane tanks are down the hill:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53818648298_fefcb231d5_b.jpg\" alt=\"Acker Rock Hike\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The walkway to the lookout is fenced for safety:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53817506632_322e8f7992_b.jpg\" alt=\"Acker Rock Hike\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53818778889_c78b50d5e4_b.jpg\" alt=\"Acker Rock Hike\" width=\"1024\" height=\"684\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There was a camera affixed to the railing. I&#8217;m guessing this is here because they&#8217;ve had vandalism issues:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53818757969_79585a93db_b.jpg\" alt=\"Acker Rock Hike\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This wasn&#8217;t being staffed or rented and the shutters were only up on two sides:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53818668938_ac22758864_b.jpg\" alt=\"Acker Rock Hike\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<p>View to the southwest.
