Turn left on S. Spangler Road. After two miles turn right onto S. Brockway Road. Follow this road for about a mile to Hopkins.<\/p>\n<p><strong>More information<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/oregonlookouts.weebly.com\/clatskanie-mountain.html\">Forest Lookouts<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.firelookout.com\/or\/clatskaniemtn.html\">Rex&#8217;s Forest Fire Lookout Page<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.peakbagger.com\/peak.aspx?pid=18389\">Peakbagger<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>History<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This tower was originally constructed on Clatskanie Mountain in 1954 along with ground cabin living quarters. In 1984 the tower was dismantled and moved to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldforestry.org\/our-campus-community\/magness-tree-farm\/\">Magness Memorial Tree Farm<\/a> to be an educational exhibit there.<\/p>\n<p>In 2008 Forests Forever, who operates <a href=\"https:\/\/demonstrationforest.org\/news\/historic-fire-lookout-dream-comes-true\/\">Hopkins Demonstration Forest<\/a>, entered in to an agreement to transfer the tower to their property. The process required permits, re-fabrication of parts, and a lot of time, money, and logistics.
