I drove Highway 395 south from Highway 20, and just past the community of Wagontire turned right onto an unsigned gravel road, which I followed due north. (If you&#8217;re going and want to follow a GPS track you&#8217;ll find one <a href=\"https:\/\/www.peakbagger.com\/climber\/ascent.aspx?aid=1197472\">here on Peakbagger<\/a>.) After 5.5 miles I reached a fork and turned right. As expected I reached a gate 0.1 mi later. The gate was open but the road beyond was rough and I needed the exercise so I parked here and started walking:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52110645026_6d7e77d87d_c.jpg\" alt=\"Wagontire Mountain\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I passed a downed tree on the road:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52110675788_775fb085cf_c.jpg\" alt=\"Wagontire Mountain\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I saw\u00a0some nice wildflowers. You can see the feed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alertwildfire.org\/region\/oregon\/?camera=Axis-Wagontire\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/coord.info\/GC1CXVW\">geocache<\/a> up here was archived back in 2016.
