The old lookout tower still stands, surrounded by a fence at the base and serving as a platform for several pieces of equipment:

The clouds prevented far-reaching views but I wasn’t socked-in either:

History

A 30′ lookout tower was built on Table Mountain in 1931. In 1958 it was replaced by a different 30′ tower.

ODF

It’s unclear when it stopped being staffed, but the lookout has been abandoned for decades.
