There was a car that had clearly been sitting there for a long time:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/51086093372_00db783c5b_c.jpg\" alt=\"Klickitat Trail\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Most of the time Swale Creek was out of sight, but occasionally it came into view:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/51016816735_c026901a68_c.jpg\" alt=\"Klickitat Trail\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Another cabin:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/51016838685_8496e49f1b_c.jpg\" alt=\"Klickitat Trail\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After hiking for just over an hour I reached this old trestle at the three mile mark:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/51086021931_1fddd0fd9d_c.jpg\" alt=\"Klickitat Trail\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/51086114297_c24fbd60e6_c.jpg\" alt=\"Klickitat Trail\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/51086019081_73b2ca76d9_c.jpg\" alt=\"Klickitat Trail\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Hills above the trestle:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/51001093174_01feb7ffd1_c.jpg\" alt=\"Klickitat Trail\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Just beyond the trestle is another piece of private property. This one had a whole lot of junk laying around:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/51016833925_b07b63648d_c.jpg\" alt=\"Klickitat Trail\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/51001092584_ed165928bd_c.jpg\" alt=\"Klickitat Trail\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I turned and headed back to the car:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/51016836770_ed15ce72ca_c.jpg\" alt=\"Klickitat Trail\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/51001094879_f88fc59078_c.jpg\" alt=\"Klickitat Trail\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/51086112542_acdf48c7e1_c.jpg\" alt=\"Klickitat Trail\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After that I drove over to the trailhead on Harms Road. If I had kept hiking another eight miles past that trestle earlier I would have ended up here:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/51084456383_80e20ebb74_c.jpg\" alt=\"Klickitat Trail\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/51002985019_c871397d67_c.jpg\" alt=\"Klickitat Trail\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This part of the trail was very different from where I had just been. It was much more open with hardly any trees, and therefore less protected from the wind.
