We hiked up to Devil&#8217;s Rest, a high point with no views. But the lack of views on such a cloudy day was no problem, and the exercise was much-needed.<\/p>\n<p>After all the rain, Fairy Falls was really gushing:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"Fairy Falls\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.staticflickr.com\/3696\/13208294295_991a1e32ac_z.jpg\" width=\"425\" height=\"640\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It felt great to be back in the forest again:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"Green forest\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.staticflickr.com\/3679\/13406656764_33fe709482_z.jpg\" width=\"425\" height=\"640\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Recent windy weather has resulted in the trail becoming covered with little branches and debris:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"Covered trail\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.staticflickr.com\/3729\/13208901813_5d1a95425a_z.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"425\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s a viewpoint a little before the summit, but there wasn&#8217;t much to see on this cloudy day:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"Peeking through clouds\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.staticflickr.com\/3789\/13209076464_4858c15d65_z.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"425\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"Cloudy view\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.staticflickr.com\/2872\/13208904713_9aa289e676_z.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"425\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The summit is just a pile of boulders in the forest:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"Boulder pile\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.staticflickr.com\/2735\/13208754745_60c3a8028a_z.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"425\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For some reason there a garden gnomes up here:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"Gnome\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.staticflickr.com\/2890\/13208755295_11e757a5fe_z.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"425\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The hike up was dry, but the hike down was rainy and we got soaked.
