The Willamette Valley has been in the grip of winter recently, so my appointment to scan photos at the Siuslaw National Forest offices in Corvallis this morning was up in the air. Fortunately my contact, Kevin, was able to come into work and I was able to keep my appointment. I slid around on some of the snowy icy streets of Corvallis on my way there, but I made it! I scanned about 80 photos and headed home.
Below is the Cougar Mountain lookout, which was built in 1954. The photo was taken in 1960.
