The first one was Hanging Rock.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>We started at the trailhead on Road 140:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53059326069_4fa949c328_c.jpg\" alt=\"Hanging Rock Hike\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The wilderness sign is gone, but the trail immediately enters the Wild Rogue Wilderness:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53057519594_26b4a7eb3e_c.jpg\" alt=\"Hanging Rock Hike\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53057814538_5aa6a9f8c5_c.jpg\" alt=\"Hanging Rock Hike\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We saw some coralroot:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53059324834_2cc724456c_c.jpg\" alt=\"Hanging Rock Hike\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53059568573_e5f61459fd_c.jpg\" alt=\"Hanging Rock Hike\" width=\"533\" height=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And some iris:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53056749307_804797c42d_c.jpg\" alt=\"Hanging Rock Hike\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The trail was pleasant and well-traveled and in good shape:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53057813208_b5ae8dd0e1_c.jpg\" alt=\"Hanging Rock Hike\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Cool nurse stump:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53057336186_da243dac44_c.jpg\" alt=\"Hanging Rock Hike\" width=\"533\" height=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We reached the junction with Panther Ridge Trail #1253. The junction is pretty easy to miss:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53059142091_a3b7cb6894_c.jpg\" alt=\"Hanging Rock Hike\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We turned left on the Panther Ridge Trail. There are some big trees here:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53059471195_6d84b768c5_c.jpg\" alt=\"Hanging Rock Hike\" width=\"533\" height=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We reached another junction. To the left the trail goes to a trailhead on Road 230. That&#8217;s Mt.
