On Saturday we stopped at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fs.usda.gov\/recarea\/siuslaw\/recarea\/?recid=42265\">Cape Perpetua Scenic Area<\/a> and were surprised to find the visitor&#8217;s center open. This is a national forest and with the government shutdown we didn&#8217;t expect any facilities to be open. Turns out volunteers were running things. I&#8217;m sure this little beach is a zoo during nice weather. Today hardly anyone was there.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/4876\/46866073312_ddb9beaace_z.jpg\" alt=\"Cape Creek\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We headed to our Airbnb, a super cute cabin on the edge of Yachats. The weather wasn&#8217;t great so I spent a lot of time in this cozy reading nook reading a book:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/7886\/33042917258_507a1b6c83_z.jpg\" alt=\"Reading nook\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We also attended the <a href=\"https:\/\/yachatsagatefestival.com\/\">Yachats Agate Festiva<\/a>l where I picked up this pretty agate pendant:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/4827\/33042915598_48191e8055_z.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_4715\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As part of the festival, the nearby Yachats Community Presbyterian Church was open to visitors.
