On Sunday we showshoed to Tumalo Falls.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4907\/45806144765_b7fc30aedf_k.jpg\" alt=\"Tumalo Falls\" width=\"534\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Our first stop was breakfast at Sparrow Bakery. YUM!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4893\/45844716745_3131b48ae3_k.jpg\" width=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We parked at Skyliners Sno-Park and were one of the first cars there:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7910\/45996948084_87ba62d688_k.jpg\" alt=\"Skyliners Sno-Park\" width=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p>From there we set off down the Tumalo Creek Trail:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7835\/31780213797_82088055e9_k.jpg\" alt=\"Tumalo Creek Trail\" width=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4813\/45996946094_9d18293e2e_k.jpg\" alt=\"Tumalo Creek Trail\" width=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There wasn&#8217;t\u00a0much to see, but we got occasional glimpses of the cliffs to the right:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7827\/31780211657_024fbbdf08_k.jpg\" alt=\"Cliffs\" width=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7863\/45996943944_ea6b4ebf54_k.jpg\" alt=\"Cliffs\" width=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We crossed the South Fork on a little bridge:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7849\/31780209237_1e3e1b80ee_k.jpg\" alt=\"Tumalo Creek Trail\" width=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Better views of Tumalo Creek:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4835\/45996942174_67b79fbb9a_k.jpg\" alt=\"Tumalo Creek Trail\" width=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And then we reached the lower viewpoint for Tumalo Falls:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7862\/45806149545_38b92cc554_k.jpg\" alt=\"Tumalo Falls\" width=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We also visited the upper viewpoint, and we could see downstream along the canyon we just hiked up:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7905\/46706958522_d0529a6315_k.jpg\" alt=\"View from Tumalo Falls\" width=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4865\/46706956702_1ee3bd5d8b_k.jpg\" alt=\"Top of Tumalo Falls\" width=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We hiked back on the road (which is closed to vehicles in winter) rather than the trail:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4879\/45844715745_d85def8a55_k.jpg\" alt=\"Hiking back from Tumalo Falls\" width=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7837\/46706955352_4e30bacbc9_k.jpg\" alt=\"Hiking back from Tumalo Falls\" width=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We passed at least 60 people hiking in as we hiked out and we were glad that we had gotten an early start. When we reached the gate at the end of the road we discovered that there was parking there.
