A month ago we went to Sahalie and Koosah Falls and did the loop hike. Very pretty! I haven&#8217;t been there in a very long time and it was nice to see these two beautiful waterfalls again.<\/p>\n<p>We started at Sahalie Falls:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4468\/37700421871_757ca969e8_c.jpg\" alt=\"37700421871_757ca969e8_c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Then hiked downstream along the McKenzie River:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4478\/37668021832_4d492854ac_c.jpg\" alt=\"37668021832_4d492854ac_c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4462\/37668016112_ecc67ae0d0_c.jpg\" alt=\"37668016112_ecc67ae0d0_c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Next stop, Koosah Falls:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4498\/37700746231_4194496baf_c.jpg\" alt=\"37700746231_4194496baf_c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We crossed the road bridge at Carmen Reservoir:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4494\/36990410504_816c3567ee_c.jpg\" alt=\"36990410504_816c3567ee_c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Then we picked up the McKenzie River National Recreation Trail and headed back upstream on the other side of the river.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4456\/37443039600_73f40c67a8_c.jpg\" alt=\"37443039600_73f40c67a8_c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4505\/23847645798_0dd466b7a8_c.jpg\" alt=\"23847645798_0dd466b7a8_c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Sahalie Falls again:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4514\/37443185330_c95b732638_c.jpg\" alt=\"37443185330_c95b732638_c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Man, I LOVE that blue!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4458\/23847640958_3114a6b98c_c.jpg\" alt=\"23847640958_3114a6b98c_c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There was some fall color to be seen:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4451\/37652152956_d4c4e8e45b_c.jpg\" alt=\"37652152956_d4c4e8e45b_c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4466\/37652150786_0b84acd47f_c.jpg\" alt=\"37652150786_0b84acd47f_c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Crossing the footbridge back across the river:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4492\/37652148476_392835c8f9_c.jpg\" alt=\"37652148476_392835c8f9_c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On the drive back we stopped to gawk at the beautiful vine maple in the lava field along Highway 22:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4513\/37652139356_ef3241b790_c.jpg\" alt=\"37652139356_ef3241b790_c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4488\/23847659388_50e981945f_c.jpg\" alt=\"23847659388_50e981945f_c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4450\/36990548114_3f4d3983a2_c.jpg\" alt=\"36990548114_3f4d3983a2_c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4507\/37700905331_38be1cdacd_c.jpg\" alt=\"37700905331_38be1cdacd_c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4473\/37652162366_37ed5c5290_c.jpg\" alt=\"37652162366_37ed5c5290_c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A lovely day!
