Cheryl Hill is a native of the Portland area and is a lifelong history buff. She is the author of the Mount Hood History Blog, a project she started in 2012 when she became interested in the history of the places she saw while hiking and driving through the forest. She is also the author of Mount Hood National Forest and Fire Lookouts of Oregon. When not doing historical research she fills her free time with camping, hiking, and photography. She serves on the board for Trailkeepers of Oregon, is working on a project to visit every incorporated town in Oregon, and is also working towards her goal to visit every standing fire lookout in Oregon. She lives in Portland with her husband and three cats.
